1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how FaceSeek ("FaceSeek," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website at faceseek.online and our reverse face search services, including our developer API (together, the "Service"). FaceSeek is a reverse face search engine that helps you find where a face appears across the public web.

2. Information We Collect

Images you upload. When you run a search, you upload a photo containing one or more faces. See Section 3 for how we handle facial data.

Account and billing data. If you buy credits or an API key, we collect your email address and a record of your purchase. Card payments are handled by our third-party payment processor; we do not receive or store your full card details.

Usage and technical data. We automatically collect log data such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, referring pages, and how you interact with the Service, so we can operate it, prevent abuse, and improve performance.

Cookies. We use essential cookies and limited analytics cookies. See Section 10.

3. Facial Images and Biometric Data

To perform a search, we process the photo you upload to compute a temporary mathematical representation of the face (a "faceprint" or vector) and compare it against images that are publicly available on the internet. This may be considered biometric or sensitive personal data under some laws.

• We use uploaded images and faceprints only to run and return your search results.
• We do not sell biometric data, and we do not use it to build a persistent identity profile of you.
• Uploaded query images are retained briefly to deliver results and, if you have an account, your search history, and are then deleted. See Section 7.
• You should only upload photos that you are legally permitted to use.

4. How We Use Information

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and return search results
• Process purchases of credits and API access
• Secure the Service, detect fraud, and enforce our Terms
• Improve search quality, reliability, and user experience
• Respond to your requests and provide support
• Comply with legal obligations

5. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for processing the facial data you submit); performance of a contract (to deliver searches you request and purchases you make); our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service); and legal obligation (to meet regulatory requirements). You may withdraw consent at any time by ceasing to use the Service and contacting us.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — for example, cloud hosting and content delivery, our payment processor, and analytics providers
• Legal and safety recipients when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service
• Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to this Policy

7. Data Retention

We keep uploaded query images and their faceprints only as long as needed to deliver your results and, for account holders, your search history — and no longer than 30 days unless you delete them sooner or the law requires otherwise. Account and transaction records are retained as needed for accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. If you are in California, you have the right to know, delete, and correct your information and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law. To exercise any right, email contact@faceseek.online. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

9. Removal and Opt-Out Requests

If you believe your face appears in search results and you would like it removed, or you do not want to be searchable, contact us at contact@faceseek.online and we will process your request. Note that FaceSeek surfaces images that are already public on third-party websites; removing a result from FaceSeek does not delete the underlying image from its original source.

10. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to run the Service and, with your consent where required, to measure aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect functionality.

11. Data Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International Data Transfers

We operate internationally and may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.

13. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended only for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Third-Party Links

Search results link to third-party websites we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and update the "Last updated" date; material changes may be announced on the website.
